14, 2001: Deutsche Presse-Agentur quotes Dr. Yasser Sheikh Ali
at Al-Nasser Hospital: “Israel has been using a powerful type of tear gas
against the Palestinians that causes convulsions and spasms.” (1)
“More than 80 Palestinians
arriving at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis reported that Israeli soldiers had
used the white smoky gas, but Israel denied doing so.” (2)

15, 2001: Three more poison gas canisters fired at houses in Gharbi
refugee camp, “another 11 Palestinian civilians, mostly children, suffered
from suffocation and spasms due to gas inhalation.” (3) British journalist
Graham Usher: Khan Younis civilians “incapacitated [by] ‘new’
form of toxic gas.” (4)
Palestinian Authority President
Yasser Arafat accused Israel of using poison gas. Israel Defense Forces called
the accusation “despicable lies”. “The IDF has not and does
not use gas during the fighting,” the army said.(5)

driver, Nasser Hospital: “…a very serious gas. A gas we’ve
never seen before…a dark smoke..without an odor, without anything...not
like the usual teargas. It doesn’t make you tear up or irritate your mucus
membranes..it has a sweet taste, a good taste…I was dealing with the gas
patients for 3 days.” |
