Underage prisoners suffer from lack of medical attention Jerusalem Times 10/30/2003 The Palestinian Ministry of detained and released prisoners’ Affairs issued lately a report showing that the sick detained Palestinian children in the Israeli occupation prisons are living in a miserable conditions, in which they are denied necessary medical attention and necessary treatment, that might affect and endanger their lives if they are not treated on time....The Ministry clarified in its latest statistics that 41% of the detained sick children were injured as a result of torture during investigation inside the Israeli prisons and due also to the severe hard arrests and unhealthy conditions they are living in. Palestinian juvenile detainees suffer humiliation and torture Palestinian Information Center 10/23/2003 Bethlehem - The Palestinian prisoner’s club has said that the number of Palestinian juvenile detainees in the Zionist occupation jail of Atsion had risen to 13 due to the continuing occupation army’s campaign of arrests. The club quoted those juveniles as complaining of constant torture, beatings and insults at time of arrest. Palestinian Prisoners Speak Out Inhuman Conditions in Solitary Ward of Al Ramlah Prison International Press Center 10/6/2003 GAZA, OCT6 ,2003 , (IPC) _A handful of Palestinian prisoners in solitary confinement inside "Al Ramlah" prison, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, had spoken out their beyond belief solitary situations. In the affidavit forwarded to the solicitor of Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS), Fahmi Al Ewewy, by Nasser Oweis, Mu’taz Hejazi and Mossa Dudeen, who disclosed the torture and maltreatment the Palestinian prisoners undergo. Boycott Israeli Medical Association UK: The Medical Committee for Boycott of the Israeli Medical Association (IMA) will document the systematic torture of Palestinian people by agents of Israel. It will publicise the practice in order to bring world opinion to bear on Israel. And it will challenge the Israeli Medical Association which has repeatedly failed to issue advice to doctors who are involved in any way with torture. Palestinian Prisoners Society The Palestinian Prisoner Society is a social and human institution and its members are prisoners inside prisons and released prisoners. Public Committee Against Torture in Israel - PCATI An independent human rights organization founded that monitors the implementation conditions in detention centers and continues the struggle against the use of torture in interrogation in Israel and the Palestinian Authority. United Nations Information System on the Question of Palestine The main collection contains the texts of current and historical United Nations material concerning the question of Palestine and other issues related to the Middle East situation and the search for peace. World Organisation Against Torture OMCT is today the largest international coalition of NGOs fighting against torture,summary executions, forced disappearances and all other forms of cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment in order to preserve Human Rights. It has at its disposal a network, SOS Torture, consisting of some 240 non-governmental organisations which act as sources of information. |
