Ariel Sharon's Secret Plan to Remove Palestinians From Israel

Israel's hard-line prime minister, Ariel Sharon, has ordered his defence forces to prepare to drive "hundreds of thousands" of Palestinians on the West Bank over the border into Jordan. Jordanian intelligence chiefs say the operation will commence on the day the forthcoming United States conflict starts against Iraq. Sharon believes that will give him "a just excuse" to remove the Palestinians - as they would then pose what he has called "a totally unacceptable threat to the safety of Israel".

Occupation Army Conducts New Incursions, Detains Palestinians

NABLUS: The Israeli occupation army says troops have entered a West Bank town and arrested several suspected Palestinian 'militants'. The incursion took place as Israeli officials said further planned troop pullouts from re-occupied Palestinian territories will be delayed until Palestinians can stop attacks.

Israeli tanks backed by helicopters searched Monday for Palestinian activists in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank. Israeli troops searched from house to house as two helicopters hovered in the sky overhead, witnesses said. Exchanges of fire erupted between Palestinians and soldiers, Army Radio reported. The army has been positioned around the camp, imposing a curfew on its residents.

THE ISRAELI government bowed to pressure from the military and ruled out any imminent pullback from Hebron on Sunday, further jeopardising an agreement for a phased withdrawal of reoccupied areas of the West Bank, where troops continued their sweep for suspected militants. 

IDF nabs top Hamas man, says was behind Sbarro attack

IDF special forces arrested in Jenin Monday afternoon the most wanted Hamas man in the West Bank, Sheikh Jamal Abu el Hija. Troops arrested Hija, who is responsible for several suicide bombings that killed dozens of Israelis, as well as Aslam Jarar, a Hamas member of lower rank.

Ben-Eliezer: 'Gaza, Bethlehem First' plan continuing as planned

Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer said Monday that the "Gaza and Bethlehem First" plan was not frozen and that he is committed to continue working towards the plan's full implementation. Ben-Eliezer also welcomed Palestinian efforts towards a delimitation of the force in the Gaza Strip and noted a clear decrease in the number of terror attacks.

IDF accepts freeze on `neighbor practice'

The IDF has accepted a two-week High Court extension of a temporary restraining order preventing the army from using what it refers to as the "neighbor practice," so the State Attorney can finish its arguments to the court against a petition by human rights groups that claim the practice is a violation of international law.

7 Israeli Arabs arrested for aiding Meron junction bomber

A senior Shin Bet Security Service official met with Interior Minister Eli Yishai to discuss the arrest of seven Israeli Arabs several weeks ago on suspicion that they assisted in carrying out the August 4 Meron junction bus bombing, in which nine people were killed and dozens were injured. The arrests were made public on Monday.

35 soldiers under investigation for looting

The IDF announced Sunday it is investigating 35 soldiers for suspected looting during Operation Defensive Shield. The Military Police will probe allegations that soldiers stole property from Palestinians during searches for hidden weapons and terrorists in Palestinian towns and cities.

Israeli supreme court: ministry can bar French activists

IDF: Dahlan's deputy behind Gaza attack

Rashid Abu Shabak, the deputy commander of the Palestinian security forces in the Gaza Strip, gave the orders for the unsuccessful attack against the Jewish settlement of Kfar Darom on Friday, according to Israeli security sources. Abu Shabak is second in command to Mohammed Dahlan in Gaza.
