The Israeli government had also agreed to give the U.N. refugee agency more freedom of movement in Palestinian areas, said Catherine Bertini, Secretary-General Kofi Annan's personal humanitarian envoy.

No more waking up to the roaring tanks, sudden burst of explosions and shootings, or not being able to sleep in anticipation of military operations. 50,000 expected in J'lem for Islamic Movement festivities

The Islamic Movement is expecting some 50,000 parents and children to attend a festival Saturday at Jerusalem's Al Aqsa mosque. The festival is the largest such event organized by the northern branch of the Islamic Movement since November 2001, when an 'Al Aqsa is in danger' rally was held in Umm al-Fahm. Representatives of the Moslem community in Israel, including Knesset members and head of regional councils, have been invited to Saturday's event. Keynote speeches will be given by the head of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Raad Salah, Jerusalem mufti Sheikh A'akramah Sabri, and Kamel Hativ, deputy leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement.
