OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, 4 August — Israeli troops yesterday killed a Palestinian truck driver for violating curfew in Hebron, arrested more people in Nablus and blew up more homes in occupied West Bank towns.

Palestinian Minister of Interior Abdul Razek Yehiyeh said Saturday that he plans to meet with Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer within the next few days. Speaking on Voice of Palestine radio from the West Bank city of Ramallah, Yehiyeh said the meeting with Ben-Eliezer will deal with an Israeli withdrawal from Palestinian cities.

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, 3 August — Backed by over 100 tanks, Israeli troops stormed the West Bank city of Nablus yesterday, killing five Palestinians and destroying homes. The Israeli Security Cabinet also approved a move to banish two brothers of Palestinians who had killed Israelis from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip.

IDF troops shot dead a Palestinian in the West Bank city of Hebron on Saturday, Palestinian witnesses said. They said the troops were reimposing the curfew at the end of the day and shot 40-year-old Abdel Rahim Tawil in the head while he was driving a truck. The army said it was checking the report.

Government to discuss impasse with Palestinians

Israel's government is to discuss the conflict with the Palestinians in a meeting today. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon promised cabinet members a week and a half ago that he would hold a meeting about Israel's objectives in the conflict, but the discussion was postponed twice, once due to a Knesset vote and a second time because of Foreign Minister Shimon Peres' absence on a trip overseas.
 
Peace group warns IDF officers: We have evidence of war crimes

Gush Shalom, an Israeli peace organization, has in past months sent threatening letters to Israel Defense Forces officers who are on duty in the territories. The letters claim that the officers are guilty of offenses tantamount to war crimes. The officers have been warned in these letters that the movement is monitoring their actions, and that Gush Shalom intends to compile information against them which will be submitted to the International Criminal Court.
