Settlers Murder 14-Year Old Girl in Hebron, Terrorize Residents
Nevin Jamjoum, 14 years old, was killed today in al-Ibrahimi mosque
area when Israeli settlers opened fire at Palestinian civilians
in the city. Israeli settlers also broke into a house in the
Old City, stabbed a 7- year old boy and then kidnapped him and his
father.
The attack took place following the funeral of an Israeli soldier
killed in a roadside ambush last Friday, in which 3 settlers and
a soldier were killed.
Israeli Army Escalates Military Attacks in Jenin Residential
Areas
Israeli tanks this morning shelled the western sector of Jenin
Refugee Camp, which is placed under curfew with at least four missiles
as well as attacked homes in the refugee camp with heavy machine
gun fire. No casualties were reported, but severe material damage
was inflicted and the residents lived a state of fear during the
early hours of the day.
Intense confrontations were reported in the city of Jenin and
its refugee camp during an invasion with Israeli tanks to enforce
a curfew. Additionally, Israeli soldiers intermittently open fire
at homes in Jenin city, which is placed under curfew.
Israeli attack helicopters were also used at noon today to shell
Burqin town, which was placed under curfew last night. The helicopters
shelled and attacked residential and agricultural areas in the village
randomly. No reports of causalities.
The Israeli army also carried out home raids and arrests in the
town situated west of Jenin.
A 12-year old child (Hussein Shahin) was moderately wounded by
missile shrapnel last night in al-Yamoun town during an Israeli
military invasion and random attack.
The Israeli army also invaded Rammana town, northwest Jenin, last
night under intense random fire directed at inhabited homes.
Wide-Scale Arrests Amidst Curfew in West Bank Towns
Jenin
The Israeli army invaded several Jenin villages and towns last
night and today and carried out wide-scale arrests among the residents
who are placed under curfew.
Late last night, the Israeli army imposed a curfew on the villages
of Anin and al-Tibeh, west of Jenin. Israeli tanks and armored vehicles
spread throughout the villages to enforce the curfew.
This morning, the Israeli army imposed a curfew on the residents
of Qabatya, Silat al-Thaher and al-Zababida. Israeli soldiers brutally
raided homes and arrested people, while tanks and armored vehicles
spread throughout the towns.
Hebron
The Israeli army at dawn today waged a campaign of collective
arrests in various areas in Hebron city, mainly Yatta and Ithna.
Witnesses reported that Israeli soldiers raided homes brutally,
destroyed people's belongings and physically attacked the inhabitants.
The Israeli army also opened fire randomly and intensively during
the invasion.
A Palestinian civilian was wounded late last night in Doura town
during a curfew, which was imposed earlier in the day. The Israeli
army invaded Doura yesterday noon under random fire, wounding several
people.
Nablus
The Israeli army this morning invaded Salem Village, east of
Nablus. Israeli soldiers chased civilians through fields and confiscated
several cars to close all side routes that lead to neighboring towns
and villages.
Tulkarem
The Israeli occupation army early this morning opened fire
towards homes in the old sector of the city. No causalities were
reported.
Salfeet
Israeli soldiers arrested several people from al-Zawiya and
Kufer al-Dik towns. A large number of Israeli military forces raided
the two towns and carried out random arrests.
Qalqilya
The Israeli army waged a campaign of arrests in Qalqilya today
as well as tightened the imposed military closure on the city and
its surrounding villages.
Bethlehem
The Israeli army continued to impose a tight military siege on Bethlehem.
Ramallah
The Israeli army tightened the imposed military siege on Ramallah
and continues to besiege Arafat's headquarters. The curfew was lifted
until 5:00 pm today and yesterday.
Israeli Army Destroys Dozens of Olive Trees in Qalqilya
Israeli bulldozers demolished dozens of olive trees last night
and this morning and bulldozed vast areas of agricultural land in
Kufer Thulth Village, Qalqilya.
Over 50 fruitful olive trees were uprooted and over 200 dunums
(1dunum=1000m2) of agricultural land destroyed near al-Uyoun area
along `Ma'aleh Shamron' settlement. The Israeli army closed all
routes that lead to the area during the destruction activities.
Israeli Attacks and Agriculture Demolition in Gaza Strip
Palestinian civilian Anwar Fayad, 25 years old, died yesterday affected
by critical wounds subjected on 23 July. Fayad is from Beit Hanoun
and was shot in the head near `Dogit' illegal settlement, north
of Gaza Strip.
Rafah
The Israeli army at dawn today fired sound bombs towards homes
in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. Witnesses reported that Israeli
soldiers in observation towers near Tel al-Sultan fired the sound
bombs to scare the residents, especially the children.
Khan Younis
At least one civilian was wounded this morning when Israeli
occupation soldiers opened fire towards areas west of Khan Younis.
Ramadan Ahmad, 43 years old, was wounded while on top of his house
in the western refugee camp.
Israeli soldiers warned today the owners of green houses in al-Sater
area, west north Khan Younis, of a demolition order that will be
carried out in 24 hours. The green houses that belong to al-Astal
family cover an area of 10 dunums (1dunum=1000m2) and are over 200
meters away from `Netser Hazani' settlement established illegally
west of Khan Younis. Israeli soldiers also threatened to demolish
their homes had they not destroyed the green houses themselves within
24 hours.
Gaza City
The Israeli army last night bulldozed vast areas of agricultural
land southeast Gaza City.
Israeli bulldozers under heavy military protection demolished
vast areas of land cultivated with olive trees on the road leading
to the illegal Israeli settlement `Netsarim', south of Gaza City.
Israeli soldiers also opened fire intensively and randomly in the
area as a cover for the bulldozing activities.
Palestinian Resistance
The children of Nablus Challenge the Imposed Curfew
Over 100 children took to the streets of Nablus city, which is placed
under curfew and challenged the Israeli tanks that spread throughout
the city. The children drew Palestinian flags on their faces and
made sounds with pots and pans and empty milk boxes.
