Image and Reality: Six Public Forums
on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
         
   

Renowned experts explore the connections between image and reality in the occupation of Palestine. A public forum to accompany the Made in Palestine exhibition at the Wood Art Gallery.

Each forum (except October 22nd) will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free.
  October 20: Perceptions of Palestine & U.S. Foreign Policy and the Occupation of Palestine by Kathleen and Bill Christison, former CIA political analysts.  
  October 22: Where the Soul Takes Flight: Art and Resistance by Samia Halaby, Palestinian artist. (This presentation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m.)  
  October 26: Israeli Apartheid and the Separation Wall by Diana Buttu, legal advisor to the Palestinian Authority.  
  November 2: The Road to the Second Intifada: The Oslo Years and the Myth of the ‘Generous Offer' by Dr. Naseer Aruri, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.  
  November 8: From Dignity to Dissent: The Journey of a Child of Holocaust Survivors by Dr. Sara Roy, Harvard University  
  November 16: Vermont in Palestine: Vermont Activists Talk about Living and Struggling for Justice in Occupied Palestine

Located in College Hall on the campus of the Union Institute, the gallery maintains a permanent collection and display of the 19th Century artist Thomas Waterman Wood's paintings. The gallery also includes contemporary exhibitions of regional artists and craftsmen.
