Israel on the defensive at last

It is good to see that the Israelis are finally on the defensive in their long-running propaganda war. Fewer and fewer people are buying the absurd notion that one of the world's great military powers is 'the victim' of unarmed Palestinians. Dropping a one-ton bomb on one of the most densely populated urban areas in the world and then professing to be surprised that civilians were killed flew like a lead bird in Europe and the rest of the world.

Faulty plans prompt more violence

WHILE THE week has been full of half-baked initiatives and semi-successful meetings, the violence on the ground continues unabated. In all, 12 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation troops in the last seven days, including a father of 12.
