From the
Olive Groves of Palestine: Vermont Farmers Write Home, is a journal written
by two Vermont farmers who traveled in the West Bank in the beginning of 2004,
is now available. S'ra DeSantis and Hilary Martin met with farmers who have been
affected by Israeli occupation and the construction of the security perimeter,
also known as the Apartheid Wall. They also took part in non-violent demonstrations
opposing the occupation and the wall. This 48-page booklet is a compilation of
correspondences they wrote while they were in Palestine and also includes maps
and photos.
To obtain a copy,
visit the Peace and Justice Store on Church Street in Burlington, or Bear Pond
Books or Rivendale Books on Main Street in Montpelier, or write an e-mail to S'ra
DeSantis at sra@riseup.net. The booklets cost $5. All profits will be donated
directly to Palestinian farmers who have lost land to the construction of the
wall.
